A Haunted Tale

Looking for Ghost Stories, here is one that Brianna wrote in with :

Hi there! My name is Brianna Blum, I have had my house haunted for a while, until I got rid of the ghost. But I have two events I would like to tell you of many events. The First is: I was in my bed, witch is like a bunk bed without the bottom bunk, it was morning my grandmother had just arrived for a visit, I didn't want to get up it was cold so I stayed laying down with the covers up to my neck. The covers started to slide down slowly off of me, I sat up and watched them go down to my legs, then I said' "okay I'm getting up", then they stopped, and it sounded like some one just got off my bed and landed on the floor. The next event, I was in the living room reading a old library book, The phone rang so I went to get it, when I hung it up I went back over to the couch and the pages started to turn one by one, All windows/ doors closed and no fans, now I am a major book worm so the first thing I did was say, "No I'll lose my page", then the pages went and flipped back quickly all at once to the page I was on.

Sunday Morning Reading

Colin has been trying to figure out this certain bird that thinks the
backyard is his....we will let you know when we get a positive ID.
Right now he is leaning towards a Black Phoebe.

What to say ?

Part of me wanted to stop writing about this because I was just so tired after the events of the day(s) that I could not bring myself to write. Explaining to family and friends was hard enough, as repeating details over and over can just wear you down.  My wife is really the rock when it comes to Colin’s health.  She is amazing.  He has had a fever for three weeks tomorrow :( We have an amazing pediatrician. She and her fellow doctors really care about Colin. That really helps.

Last weekend we watched Colin struggle through a CT scan, a catheter, and more blood work. The weekend before was X-rays for pneumonia. I am sick of hospitals. Today we were at UCLA Medical Center to meet with Immunologists and Infectious Disease experts.  The highlight for my son was the salt water fish tank with Nemo. We were there for a few hours and by the end of it I was calling the Nemo fish Elmo…..I had lost it. (I still don’t understand if that red Elmo is a monkey, a bear, or….my wife says he is a 3 year old monster.)

Then it was downstairs for more blood work :( Alot of sick children that just break your heart with every breath… but I was holding mine. All of this seems unrelated to anything in the past , he just has a fever of an unknown origin.  He is such a fighter with needles and the like, this kid needs at least four of us to secure him down for any testing. I swear he could be a boxer, god I love him so much.

All the blood work keeps coming back normal which we love, but we just want what every parent does: health.

I am confident he is fine, this is just another entry in his book-but I am pretty sure he would like to start a new chapter.

Squirrel

We have had problems at the building this year. Here is what our manager writes:

 

I know everyone is interested in the squirrel that chases you in and out of the building each day. He is nicknamed "Pinnacle Pete" and over the years he has claimed many victims, including some celebrities and at least one of our AE's.

Pinnacle Pete has been removed to a remote location by a local humane society that handles such creatures. He is living his life happily far, far away from us.

But, there is another. A very quick little guy that lurks in the parking lot. Please don't confuse him with "Pete", and please don't run him over with your car. They are attempting to rescue him, also, but so far his sheer speed has made him very elusive.

No further bulletins will be issued.

 

A little concerned they have shut down the notification system though ……
